Mr Bailey was my wife's surgeon when she underwent a partial knee replacement recently. On the occasions we visited pre surgery, we were told exactly what the problem was, what could be done about it, and the probable recovery time. The information Mr Bailey was able to impart enabled my wife to make her decision regarding her knee operation much more easily, and without doubt it was the best thing she could have done. The operation was a complete success, and the care my wife received whilst in Winchester BMI was excellent. She is now pain free with complete range of movement in her knee, and will be returning to work very shortly. I would not hesitate to recommend Mr bailey and Winchester BMI to anyone considering this type of treatment.

Thanks to Mr Bailey's nimble hands (and his medical team) I am no longer in pain following my Rotator Cuff repair. It's an absolute blessing :). I now get a full nights sleep. Mr Bailey was very friendly, would have explained the procedure but as I am squeamish I asked him not to. My procedure would have been keyhole but as the tear was approximately 3 cm it was not possible, however I have a very neat scar. It's so straight a ruler must have been used. I still have between 12-18 months to build up the strength and I do regular exercises to help achieve this but other than that I am back to all my normal activities including gym classes. Thank you once again Mr Bailey.

As soon as Mr Bailey agreed to do my full knee replacement he arranged op date ASAP. Op was straightforward & Mr Bailey came to check all was ok when I was back in my room. Then every day following op I had 2 visits, early morning and afternoon from Mr Bailey himself to check I was coping ok and not in pain. Then after discharge had 2 follow up appointments, one 2 weeks post op and another 6 weeks post op. These appointments were never rushed and Mr Bailey answered all my concerns thoroughly & was very reassuring. Would definitely recommend him as I cannot fault any of the treatment I received. Thank you for making a worrying op such a pleasant experience.

I was referred for surgical consultation for knee arthroscopy with multiple problems (torn medial and lateral meniscus; swelling and inflammation; arthritic wear and tear; pain; loss of range of movement and loss of function affecting all areas of daily life) I was anxious about surgery and had personal social concerns as the sole responsible parent for a teenager also facing surgery soon. Mr Bailey was professional but welcoming and listened to what I had to say. He attended to a physical assessment, but also my fears and social / time concerns. He explained all the issues well, addressing all my concerns. Before , during , and after admission he had an excellent team who were all clear of procedures he wished followed and I received a comprehensive package of care from Admin, nursing, physiotherapy, anasthetist etc. The operation was immediately successful in terms of pain and function. I was seen before and after surgery by all team members including Mr Bailey, with full explanation so I was clear what had been found and done, and the rehab to follow. Follow up Physiotherapy and consultant visits were all put in place. I had a folder of all aspects of my care, including a 'Limbo' waterproof leg protector on discharge from day surgery, so I lacked for nothing to return home and recover well. Mr Bailey is an expert in his field and I benefitted from that. What was also so helpful to my recovery and experience was the lack of anxiety, as everyone in the team was professional friendly and skillful. Everyone was in place with the skills and information needed and a whole package of care was clear and put in place without any confusion or misinformation. Everyone treated me as an individual and ensured their input met my particular needs and situation. I am very grateful for the expertese and care i received. I was afraid more of the general anasthetic than anything, and this was managed so well that I could benefit from the surgery I needed without feeling anxious.
